Serves me right..

So, my last blog was all positive and optimistic but maybe I had spoken too soon.

I caught a cold a few weeks before Xmas and it made me feel really rough.  So what? Everyone had a cold didn't they.

This cold took cold and became a very bad cough because my immune system is being suppressed by the drugs I am taking and so began a very long winter of being ill.

I caught virus after virus, a chest infection and eventually I developed glandular fever.  Unfortunately the viruses or the glandular fever do not respond to antibiotics and I was so poorly that I reduced my work to 2 hours teaching a day with a sleep in between.

All in all I was ill from early December until the first week in April but now am now happily back to normal.

I am not looking for sympathy here but am just trying to point out that RA has other effects that are not obvious and so I am doubling my Vit D intake from the end of summer.

On the positive side I lost one stone three pounds while I was ill and hopefully it wont come back.
